I knew last night that today would not be a great day for my joints, so I put a number of library cookbooks by my bed to scan for recipes. Well, I do hurt, but not as much as anticipated--I came downstairs and prepared dinner (I love slow-cooker recipes, as I am always more motivated to work in the mornings), and now I am here. I do not feel well enough to do anything else, however, as it all requires standing. So, I will probably lounge in bed and copy recipes after all.
I am making spicy sloppy joes for dinner tonight, and I hope the recipe goes well. It called for tomato juice, but I mistakenly purchased tomato sauce, so it might be a little thick. But it called for 6 ounces of the juice, and I used 8 ounces of sauce, so maybe it will work out okay. It also called for hot tomato juice, which I couldn't find (although, now that I think about it, it might have been because I was looking at sauce instead of juice), so I added a chipotle pepper to give it the spice it was promising. Hopefully it is spicy enough for Walter, but not so spicy that I cannot eat it.
This week has gone rather swimmingly. Next week, I expect, will be much of the same, but perhaps a bit busier. I have to do Christmas shopping, and Walter's boss is having a dinner on Friday that we may attend (but we are not sure yet. Walter wants to find out if any of his co-workers are attending first), which I may or may not have to bake something for. And then, there will be Christmas. December 20th is our first Christmas dinner, to which I am bringing miniature pigs-in-blankets and Rotel. Walter is off work from December 20th through January 4th, which will be nice (especially since it is a paid vacation). It is hard to believe that the year is almost over!

I know! This year has FLOWN by. I don't own a slow-cooker and am about to remedy that. I think it will be fun to use and learn to use and I also found it is less electricity than running your stove (I have an electric stove now unfortunately, until my antique one which is propane gets installed)
I'm happy I can afford christmas presents this year. :D
Atomic--You HAVE to get a slow cooker. I can't believe I've had mine since we got married and have just now started using it. It is such a fantastic thing, and you get to smell the food cooking all day!
Meisha--I'm glad you found a job. You were trying so hard, you deserve it. :)
Slow cookers make pleased to be alive.
Will there be Snow for Christmas?
