Back to Normalcy

Tomorrow, I go back to my normal routine. Walter will return to work (and is feeling much better), and I will clean this mess of a house. I have laundry, dishes, and vacuuming to do tomorrow, among other, smaller things. My mother is coming for a visit sometime this week as well.

My parents bought me a stand mixer. It was totally unnecessary but welcomed. It is not a Kitchenaid (which is for the best, as I would have felt uncomfortable accepting such an expensive gift), but a Sunbeam. I have not used it yet, but I am sure it will make my baking much easier and even more enjoyable. I plan to bake some cookies soon and ship them to dear Bobbie across the world soon. Hopefully they arrive there fresh and intact.

in a few months I will be throwing my sister a baby shower. I procured a cake decorating book (and some cupcake books) last week, and it has some lovely ideas that I will put to use. I am excited about this. I have been toying lately with a catering/baking business of some sort, just a small, home-based thing. I am not sure how to go about it yet, however, or if it is truly something I would be interested in. Perhaps sometime in the future.
