Productive

I wake up at 7am every morning to feed the pets and see Walter off to work. Then I go back to sleep for another two to three hours (I have always been a late riser). However, in the winter, this means that I am not functional physically until twelve or one in the afternoon. Today, I was up and ready by 10:30 (although I didn't really do anything until 11:30. I watched The Price Is Right the first half of The Martha Stewart Show). It is now 1:20 (my blog is on Stepford, Connecticut, time. The real Joanna Eberhart is on Missouri time), and the dishes are done, the floor has been swept and scrubbed, the laundry has been folded, the living room has been organized, the bed linens has been aired and then the bed made, and I am soon going to clean out the pantry and season some potatoes for dinner. I tend to be a late riser because the day isn't so long (I get lonely around 3pm if I get up early, and then I practially pounce on Walter for company at 5), but this is the first day I feel that I have actually gotten any work done in a week. Fantastic.

Tonight I will make the dough for my cookies. Walter says he may not need them for work now, but I will bring them to the Christmas dinner on Saturday if he does not. Either way, they will be made!

Well, u sound a busy bee! I am up at 7, coffee in pot, breakfast on stove (eggs and some meat, today french toast as well) dogs feet and out, lunch packed, husband down and breakfast and coffee together then off to work with him. Then I am off to feed chickens and gather eggs, then clear away breakfast and clean kitchen, then, hopefully, some studio time. I WISH I could go back to bed, but I could NEVER nap. I wake up and AM up until I go to bed in the evening. I envy those who can catch a few hours here and there.

If I couldn't get back to sleep after waking, I'd never get any sleep. Many nights I wake up 3 or 4 times during the night. I have trained myself to fall asleep quickly.

Your morning sounds busier than my entire days, overall. But as I always tell my mom...the house can only get so clean when you clean it every day.

Beleive me, I get lazier as the day goes on. Once hubby is out the door and the kitchen is clean I use sequestor myself in my studio and play and art all day until I scurry out of my hole around five to start dinner. FOr myself, I never bother with lunch, just lots of pots of tea. I wish I could nap, I am envious of those who can!
