This afternoon, after a chat with our dear friend Bobbie Markowitz, Walter and I drove into the city and went to lunch. It's a lovely restaurant with a fun atmosphere, and we go most every Sunday. We purchased a few groceries after, including some chicken and marinades for meals later this week. It isn't nearly as homemade as perhaps my programming would like, but with my fragile bones, it's for the best. Besides, Walter seems to really enjoy the herbs and garlic chicken I prepare nearly weekly. Not as much as the meatloaf I prepare from his mother's recipe, but nonetheless...
Tonight, I am forcing Walter to warm some food of his own. The refrigerator is ridiculously stocked with leftovers from last week's meals, and I think that tonight is a good night to tackle those. I imagine that dear Walter will have the aforementioned meatloaf. I will perhaps have a bowl of cereal, myself. Something light for dinner, as I had a rather heavy lunch.
I am going shopping this upcoming Friday with my sister and mother. I don't plan on spending much money, but perhaps I can get some Christmas gifts out of the way.
My birthday is a week from tomorrow. I don't believe Walter has planned much. It is poor etiquette to throw yourself a birthday party, so I do not imagine that there will be much by the way of festivities. I am not particularly concerned, though. I am still planning for my Halloween party. I have purchased many decorations (and will be getting more still from my mother), and my costume should be in the mail (I will be a honey bee!). Walter has not yet decided on a costume. He doesn't seem as enthusiastic as I would like about the whole thing, and says he isn't sure he will dress up at all. I know he doesn't want to spend money on the costume, but how would it look if my co-host was not in the spirit of the holiday? Perhaps I will convince him to find something before then.
Tomorrow I will post my decorations and refreshments for the party. My bones are aching now, so I think I am to depart.
