I figured out what happened to the post I thought I wrote last night. I accidentally published it to my cooking blog. I should pay more attention.
The vet office called this morning to inform me that they were able to refund an additional fifty dollars in vet costs from yesterday's visit, which was a relief. I spent two hundred and fifty dollars that could not be refunded originally, so knocking it down a bit was really nice. The only expenses I am left with now (which I already paid) are the visit itself, x-rays, and the cremation. All of the medicine that I wasn't able to use was refunded.
I am in a much better mood today. The other pets seem to be coping well, other than the one who died's litter mate, but the others are keeping her company and trying to make her feel better. I gave her some extra cuddles last night to help. It is so strange and sad to see only four faces when I go into their room, instead of five, but she was old, and her time was nearly up regardless.
I have done a number of chores today, and once I finish catching up on my Internet business, I will work out and go to the grocery store. I think I will finally make my gnocchi tonight. I am craving it and feeling well enough to cook. After it has been prepared, I can finally begin my cooking blog. I apologize for it being so much later than promised, but sometimes things get in the way.
I have banana bread to prepare either today or tomorrow. I am hesitant because I have never done it before, and the bananas look disgustingly rotten. I know they are not rotten, but when I don't prepare the bread, if a banana makes it to the point that these are at, it gets thrown out. I was planning on making it for our guests tomorrow, but perhaps I will make it for dessert tonight so Walter will have something sweet to end the week on. It will still be fresh enough for the guests tomorrow if I do so.
